Security tips to protect your website from hackers

By olive 3 weeks ago

Keep software up to date

Keeping the software up to date is very critical in keeping your site secure. When the website is not up to date, hackers are quick to attempt to abuse them.

If you are using a managed hosting solution, then you don’t need to worry so much about applying security updates for the operating system as the hosting company should take care of this.

Beware of error messages

Be careful with how much information you give away in your error messages. Provide only minimal errors to your users, to ensure they don’t leak secrets present on you. Don’t provide full exception details. Keep all the detailed errors in your server logs and show users only the information they need.

Check your passwords

Enforcing password requirements such as a minimum of around eight characters, including an uppercase letter and number will help to protect their information in the long run.

Use HTTPS

HTTPS is a protocol used to provide security over the Internet. HTTPS guarantees that the users are using a secure webpage. All communications between your browser and the website are encrypted.

Cybersecurity in Singapore is very critical as you may not know when the cyber attack going to happen.
